In 1999, Niraj took his first steps into the restaurant world at Sultan Walk 3. It was there he discovered not just a job, but a lifelong passion for food and hospitality, a spark that would one day become something extraordinary.

After years of dedication and late nights in the restaurant, his vision finally came true. On June 28, 2008, Nirvanis opened its doors in New Jersey, blending authentic Indian flavors with heartwarming service. What started as a dream became a destination for those who craved genuine taste and connection.


In 2016, expansion became inevitable, going from the smallest to the largest restaurant on Easton Ave marking a new beginning for us! At our new location we offered seating with 2 dining rooms, one in the front and a much larger one in the back of the restaurant for our guests and quickly expand our menu to introduce the best of what Indian culinary has to offer.


By 2022, Niraj began imagining something fresh, a new culinary concept that brought together cultures, textures, and tastes not yet seen in the area. He studied global cuisines, experimented, and refined every detail to perfection.


After years of mastering the craft, Mauli was launched in 2025, a celebration of authentic Maharashtrian, North Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisine in one destination. Mauli represents the next chapter in Niraj’s culinary journey, one built on love, precision, and pure flavor
