From humble beginnings at the age of 13 working at Sultan Wok 3 in Englishtown, New Jersey, Niraj Jivani discovered his passion for the restaurant industry early on. Over the years, he gained hands-on experience working across multiple well-known franchise brands, mastering every aspect of restaurant operations from kitchen efficiency to customer experience.At just 21, Niraj took a bold leap to create his own brand, Nirvanis Indian Kitchen, located in the heart of downtown New Brunswick near Rutgers University. Known for its vibrant late-night energy and authentic Indian street food, open until 4 AM seven days a week, Nirvanis quickly became a local favorite and a defining moment in his entrepreneurial journey.Building on that success, Niraj has now elevated his vision with Mauli. After noticing a shortage of Maharashtrian restaurants he decided to open Mauli This fine-dining concept celebrates the depth and diversity of Maharashtrian, North Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisines, complemented by a thoughtfully curated selection of mocktails. Designed with passion and ambiance at its core, Mauli represents Niraj’s commitment to redefining modern Indian dining in New Jersey, where authenticity meets sophistication.
